How to add your AI API key

CBIC Intelligence uses your personal API key to power the chat feature. Choose Mistral or Anthropic — both are supported. Follow the steps below to get your key and add it in Settings.

Mistral AI

Fast, efficient · Recommended for most users

Go to console.mistral.ai and create a free account if you don't have one.

In the left sidebar, click API Keys, then click Create new key. Give it any name (e.g., cbic-app).

Copy the key — it starts with 7... or similar. You will only see it once, so copy it now.

Sign in to CBIC Intelligence, go to Settings → AI Provider, select Mistral, paste your key, and click Save.

Click Test key to confirm it works. You're ready to chat.

Anthropic (Claude)

High accuracy · Best for complex legal analysis

Go to console.anthropic.com and sign up or log in to your Anthropic account.

Navigate to Settings → API Keys and click Create Key. Name it anything you like.

Copy the key — it starts with sk-ant-.... Store it safely; it won't be shown again.

You will need to add a credit card and add credits to your account under Billing before API calls will succeed. Claude Haiku is very affordable.

In CBIC Intelligence, go to Settings → AI Provider, select Anthropic, paste your key, choose a model, and click Save.

Click Test key to verify it's working. You're all set.

💡 claude-haiku-4-5 is the fastest and most cost-effective Claude model — great for everyday document Q&A. Use claude-sonnet-4-6 for nuanced legal interpretation.
